This is a correspondence with Peter Quirk of New Orleans He heads up Catholic Charities there and was instrumental in facilitating my Gift of the largest and finest works of art in my Gallery to New Orleans. More information on the work is in Directory as Gift of a Major Painting, Reaching out to help My Dad's New Orleans, I made that offer when I was did not know if I was going to live or die as a result of an MSRA drug resistant Staph infection picked up at a local hospital. I had voiced my intent while raising funds for Katrina victims earlier to have my family all help me do a Major work for New Orleans. Health problem got in the way. The following letter was to suggest a fair way of maximizing the benefits that Gulf Shore residents would receive. If you are from that area or care about that area or other area of America who have problems as a result of Natural disasters or needs of our injured soldier please help develop and implement this Caring Wall Concept. There will be some additions to the letter and these will be in italics. Dear Peter I have been in the process of moving painting etc out of the gallery into my Studio of Art and Music residence in Pebble Beach which is over 3500 Square feet of space designed to create in. There is a tremendous amount of work involved in the transition. Many a night I have been up past three AM getting my home in shape for visits of my friends and collectors. My Sons Jonathan and Eric were of great assistance. While I was taking care of Mom as primary care giver for years and my own health problems since 2005. My home became disorganized. It required a great amount of work. Every one from my former wife to my sons would use portions of my home for storage of their belongings, furniture what have you. The former dinning room became a catch all of boxes, books, old records and bags of everyone seasonal castoffs. I added to that problem by keeping frames, packing material and just about everything from old computers and electronics to fishing rods and Golf Clubs in that room. You climbed over things. That room is now the one with mirror and the wood partitions from the gallery with art on in the photos in the Studio of Art and Music Section. I feel like I am doing better if my energy level is an indication. I was having Chest Pains in Dec. and other residual health problems. that started with improper post operative procedures in 2005 and than MSRA while having them treated. I did have priorities involved in preparing my suite against the hospital CHOMP who created these problems. There has been a recent law past involving the reporting of MSRA Staph infections but it does not include Hospitals where there is the greatest transmission of the problem. People go in for minor operations and end up dying. What is wrong with the law makers. If you review our e-mail the concept of having a Caring Wall that would be on going even after our fund raising efforts is successfully completed is a wonderful idea that could be duplicated in other cities to help Americans in need, with the focus on housing and homes. It was a Catholic Church with out walls that inspired my concern and my gift. If Catholic Charities could play a part in initiating the idea on an Ecumenical basis it could create good will for Catholicism when it is in need of some positive reflection on their activities and purpose of doing the Lord's work. My thought would be that There would be a starting minimum bid of $10,000 that would go to Catholic Charities at my request as donor and for your involvement in making this happen. The individual who purchase the work could direct the funds after the first $10,000 went to Catholic Charities to any number of groups involved in building homes for displaced homeless people or special home for injured Veterans. There is Habitats for Humanity, The actor Brad Pitt's Eco friendly green homes for the Gulf Coast. There are a need for homes in the recent fire and tornado wracked areas of America. There are groups building homes for disabled veterans. There are Religious groups who are doing the same. It could also be directed to rebuilding Churches or specific Church Structure. The purchaser would select the beneficiary. "I have done quite a bit of fund raising over the years through my gallery, I would always allow the purchaser to select the Aid Group of their choice." Should a Catholic purchase the work he could direct the work to some specific rebuilding efforts of the Catholic church. It may be more positive on an Ecumenical basis if a member of another religion purchased the work. There would be a list compiled for the donor to choose from but not limited to. It would require the cooperation of a major Hotel. I don't know what the casino situation is in New Orleans but if it could be done there it could be duplicated in Las Vegas or other area that high Rollers go. Major Hotels or Resorts could get involved. Peter do you know of an individual who is connected in your Diocese who could work with me to refine and present this concept to those who could assist in making it a reality. Brad Pitt could help publicize the concept of a Caring Wall for Americans in Need of Homes.

We are going to have more problems in the future and yesterday's victims will go on suffering. This is just a way of reminding those who can afford to give a little or give alot to give something!
