The Orion concept started as a Memorial to our Astronauts and other heroes who made the supreme sacrifice in serving mankind. The news report of how the death of policemen on duty has doubled this past year dramatizes the truth of how it is more difficult to face danger and death everyday in the choice of performing your duty daily in the service of your country and the higher aspects of humanity. Uplifting Beauty Eternal by melding it with All Truism. Orion can be a symbol that Help is on the way in times of natural disaster. Orion can become a symbol of never giving up on your dreams. You can use it to find courage in the infinite sense. Let it help lift you through your focus from the depth of the trials you face today into a brighter tomorrow. May the beauty of Orion bring you closer to your love one when separated, Knowing as the world turn in time that same beauty and symbolism will seen by your love one no matter what hemisphere they are in. I am still tryinf to have good people implement This idea I created 25 years ago. I never give up on a good positive idea to serve mankind as I believe this idea will do. in 1986 when I was asked by a Polish priest Father Dudah to do a drawing for a Memorial Service at the Carmel Mission Basilica. I worked through the night developing the idea of lighting 10 Candles at the service for the Challenger Seven and Griffen Chaffee and White while contemplating the memorial drawing which turned into a painting. The candles became the inextinguishable stars of the Orion Concept. The drawing turned out to be a Painting, The Challenger Concept which I worked on all Night. What was at first to be candles became the constellation Orion. I Gave a talk in the church The next day on Never giving up on your Dreams at the Memorial service. There were written Words on the Painting The Flame of Courage is the Heartbeat of Man. The Night Sky is the Common Window to the Universe Shared by All. If upon Upon Viewing the Constellation Orion We Recall Those Who Answered the Call of Courage and Go On with Our Own Endeavors. Their Memory Will Live On a Positive Light Source in a Friendly Sky" Later before a second Memorial service at St. Francis in Seaside I added "May we have the courage to accept the Potential of Honest Understanding as they had the Courage to accept the Potential of Space. , I added that when I added the names of the Russian Cosmonauts who were also lost in space. Not every one agreed with me doing that as the Cold War was still a factor. There was one other quote, May the light of the Brave, Like Orion forever Illume the Winter Sky. I sent the Painting to the Senate Committee on space appropriations and had a brass plate made for it calling it the silent Lobbyist. I told them to hang it up in the hearing room while they were discussing funding for the space program. Then they could give it to the Kennedy space center or the Challenger Foundation. Sen. Inaoyue had Sen. Garn who has been into space bring it to June Scobee wife of the Captain of the Challenger who was at the helm of the Challenger Foundation. She wrote me a beautiful letter thanking me for the love I put in the work and said I could borrow it if ever I wanted to promote it message. My Family and I were invited VIP Guest of Col. Bob Springer, Mission Specialist on the Next Shuttle Launch at Cape Canaveral Florida. We waited for the descent scheduled in California with the families of the Astronauts but fortunately the Stormy Weather broke for the better and They were able to return safely to Florida. The messages are timely for America now In it's moment of economic need and to the world to stem the growth of terrorism. To go forward in Quest of Peace and Honest Understanding. That effort is driven by Ellison Onizuka's favorite expression, That still empowers some of my efforts to serve Americans in need. I visited his Mom and Dad at their county store along the Kamahama Road on the big Island of Hawaii. I will always remember the Bright Shining Metal Obelisk dedicated to Peace in memory of Ellison and the Challenger Crew outside their small business and home while his favorite saying has been engraved in my heart. My efforts are inspired by my personal love of Christ, the Holy Trinity, prayers, The Golden Rule and Christ's wonderful Two Commands of Love, I developed All Truism as an innovative approach to living and helping others, to never give up, to find the courage to go forward with their dreams, overcoming the trials of a troubled world by having Faith in the future coupled with your faith in receiving the grace and guidence of God in your life to help you obey Christ's Commands of Love and live by the Golden Rule. The additional L refers to love and a love of truth and your fellow man. All truth viewed objectively when weighing situation, actions and reactions. The basic idea is meant to find objective truth, to have you Use your God given gift of the inner compass in evaluating your potential actions hopefully based more on Christ's Two Command of Love and the Golden Rule. Inner Moral Compass It is my contention we all have natural inner moral compasses within that God in His wisdom, put in our hearts that helps us determines right and wrongs that can not be altered by Misuse of Religion, Politics and Nationalism when their action are contrary to God's Ten Commandment and the wonderful clarity and compasion of Christ's Two Great Commands of Love. History has recorded the problems and horrors that arisen by following blindly, allowing yourself to be misled and acting out of passion in ways contrary to Christ's commands of Love. As a God loving Christian Christ Commands of Love are of utmost importance to me, a guiding light and truth of how to live in peace With God , your neighbor and self. Our Age the New Millennium, 2009 and every day we awake is a time for courage. I personally Think the C is for Christ too and feel he must not be too happy when so many of Christians in the America and the World pay so little heed to Christ's Two Commands of Love. The first One involved , Loving God First. The second one, Two, was about Loving Your Neighbor as You Love Yourself. Many Religions embrace the Golden Rule, but not their fellow men. I have been on a mission the past few years of trying to have people focus more on The Two Commands of Christ and Golden Rule. I have been concerned of diversions caused by professed Christians who value the quote of some people in the Old Testament before the importance of the actual word of Jesus Christ. and at times when Christians who have an excellent grasp of the Bible behave like they are oblivious to Christ's commands of love especially when it comes to loving your neighbor. I believe that God is love. The devil must be hate. Christians should do well to recall that the bible was not transcribed into the written word until 400 years after Christ Death and Resurrection. Christianity survived persecutions suffering at the hands of others by their God instilled grace and Love of Christ. The Christians wars, where they fought and killed other Christians were responsible for the death of nearly a third of the entire White race . They went on for centuries. Unfortunately their still exist animosity among Christians that should not be there. The Majority of religions accepted the idea of of One God. Other Religions have the same type of problems between their diversified sects. People of faith have had problems with other Faiths. Let us pray we can accept the commonalities of goodness found in religions not fight wars because we disagree with our worship of the same Supreme Spiritua B we relate to as God. On the left side I first lettered Conflict and Resolution, contemplating it, I added compromise. Later I added peaceful before conflict as peaceful conflict is superior to war conflict. I made some letters larger at the end to create a sense of space and sweep. I like Modrian's abstract division of areas into rectangles etc and added that into the mix. at the very bottom I have , It feel good to do good, Try it you will like it which is part of All Truism that I have at the top, It is better to do good out of love not out of Guilt. All the word in between are part of All Truistic traits. Their is a strong relevant need for the Traits connected to Orion's belt stars, Faith; Hope; Charity and some related traits, Unity; Sacrifice; Strength plus ; Fidelity; Kindness; Patience Understanding; Tolerance; Peace, Understanding and Justice, Respect, Unity and Strength Courage. These admirable human traits, coupled with the individual stars and nebula of Orion would be a fitting symbolic memorial to heroes through out time who exhibit these trait today with those of the past and those in the future. The Flame of Courage is the heart beat of man. The word painting displays how All Truism relates to, supports and encourages more awareness and application of the Golden Rule and Christ Two Commands of love in the contemporary world. Guilt is never the positive motivation or force that love is. Guilt has been used as a balancing factor through out history’s attempts to right injustices. Sometimes it creates more injustices. Sometimes accusations of guilt lead to revenge, Sometimes on the innocent. Truth requires an effort at objectivity or the world will wallow in the undercurrents of half truths and half lies. The subjectivity of the moment can cloud the truth. Above all, remove fear from the rational process. Let us learn from history’s past. Let us answer the challenges of the now, but do it with caring integrity. Let us work toward the future with objective honesty, removing profit rationalizing greed that has led to International financial woes. It involved a quest for objective Truth in life. On Orion's Belt I have Faith, Hope and Charity with symbols of the the Three Major Religions of Muslims, Jews and Christians depicted as the Stars in the Belt. It will not stop terrorism but it can be a step in the right direction to stem it. The World and America are at the Cross Roads. The approaches of the past have only brought more violence. In the interest of peace, understanding and justice, through out the world. May we do this. it can sharpen the focus on bringing an end to immoral senseless cruelty and violence that is an affront to man and God and should never be accepted by any society or Religion. There is a commonality of human decency that prevails in all men that must condemn cruel acts of this nature against Women Children and Mankind of any Color, Ethnicity, Nationality or Religion.
